Who should we vote for?

I am wondering who I should think about voting for in the upcoming Presidential Election. It’s coming up in November of 2008. Wait a minute, it’s only 2007! Why are all of these politicians running for President so early? Are people that power hungry? Maybe these so called leaders need to read American History to get a better understanding of the office they seek.

There are so many candidates running for office, and I know where some of them stand, but the bigger question is how these people intend to get things done. I am not hearing any plans for fixing any of our problems. Not a single candidate has said how he or she would make sure that every American would have the resources to succeed.

Think about what I mean when speaking of resources. I have my list and you could make up your own too. For me, the first important resource is money. When I think of the money I make, which is not that much, I wonder what my life would be if I did not have to pay an income tax. You can do your own imagination exercise about this too.

Here is what I am dreaming about. I imagine a world where I can actually pay my mortgage payments. (I have two.) I just wrote the checks and there is plenty of money left over to pay for my daughter's therapies. (In case you don’t know, she is autistic. This is disturbing disorder that requires a lot of intervention. Unfortunately, the public school system does not do a good job dealing with children with special needs. “They are too busy worrying about how to take a trip to some exotic location of the globe at the tax payer’s expense.” So I have to figure out how to cover the cost. By the way, my daughter is autistic because we followed social policy created by the state and Feds.) Anyway, after I could pay for therapies for my daughter, we would have some money left over to pay are various utility bills. “Reminder to self-figure out how to pay 600.00 to the gas company so your family will be able to cook food and take an occasional bath.” I would still have some money to pay for the auto-insurance, car payment and fuel. As for food, we can still go through the dumpster to find something to eat. Eating is the least of our problems and I need to loose some weight anyway. Besides most of my fellow Americans are obese because we eat so much bad food. Maybe it’s a stress type of thing.

Wow, it feels good to get that off my chest. Now back to these politicians. How do they intend to meet the needs of the people of our great country? I have not heard any how to do this or that from any of them. All I have heard are the whats, shoulds, if, but and on anon much to do about nothing.

Now I don’t know if you agree with me or not. It’s really not the point because I am not running for President. I would run, but I don’t have 100,000,000 in the bank. Come to think of it Lincoln didn’t have that kind of money either. How did he win? Well, we are back to history again.

Here is the formula that I am looking for: A President who understands the here and now and has a vision about the there and then. We need a President that understands how to develop a strategy with goals in mind to help bridge the gap of where we are and where we need to be. It does not matter to me what the person’s denomination is, or what color the person is, or even if the person is a male or female. What we need is a leader that understands how to get things done.

Cruel? I don't think so!

I keep reading about how we should abolish the death penalty because it is cruel and unusual punishment, thus violating the 8th amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Lethal injection for instance, might cause intense pain, or the condemned might actually be aware of what is taking place while the lethal drug combination is administered. One article after another illustrates various objections to the death penalty.

The one issue that is always over looked is the victim; the person that was brutally murdered by the condemned inmate, that many death penalty opponents want to so desperately save using the constitution as the final word. In the mind of some people who are against the death penalty, all people deserve equal protection under the law as guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution.

What about the law abiding citizen who was just minding their own business, living within in the confines of the law and within the parameters of social acceptance; do they deserve any consideration? What about their rights? Why should someone who violates the rights of another expect special rights after sentencing is passed?

My mother was the victim of a serial killer named, Charles Cullen. He is a despicable human being who refuses to this day to acknowledge what he did was murder. He continues to tell people that he was trying to remove pain from people’s lives by what he considered a mercy killing. This pathetic person still tortures the families of the victims by making sure he gets his name in the press about every six months. Just to let us know that Charlie is alive and doing well. Why does this happen? Because Charlie is still alive and able to read books, watch TV and learn about how Jesus will save him.

Now just to be fair about the criminal justice system, it’s worth noting that a plea deal was given to Charlie in exchange for his full cooperation with the police regarding all the people he murdered. I think it’s over 40 people the last time I checked. Charles Cullen murdered his victims by lethal injection. It was a horrible, brutal form of capitol punishment for those he murdered, including my mother, who did not do a thing to anyone to deserve the death penalty. The lethal injection she received, right before my eyes, caused her immense suffering, pain and was anything but antiseptic. It was cruel and unusual punishment for a crime she did not commit.

Where was the constitution for her? Where is the constitution for people who live their lives in peace? The constitution is there for murderers who cause pain and agony, who rape and destroy. These condemned criminals did not care how they murdered their victims, nor did they stop and think the pain they caused their victims. Therefore no one should care about whether they feel pain or not. People should care about justice first and foremost.

We all need to pack some heat!

I have never been a fan of having a weapon in the house or carrying it for that matter, but after all the crazy things going on in today's world, I think I want to invest in some firearms. The question is what kind?

I was thinking that a good ole shot gun with six in the shooter would be a blast, but you can't carry that thing slung on your shoulder all day. Think about it. You would give people the creeps no matter where you went. You couldn't go to a bank, liquor store or gas station without giving somebody the wrong impression.

A concealed weapon would be nice. I prefer a 44 Magnum, the type used by Dirty Harry, but I don't think six rounds is enough when you consider what the criminals carry. I don't really like the newer types of weapons because they are not artistically designed in my opinion. I also would probably spew after seeing all the blood too.

So I think I will get a stun gun. It seems like fun, and you could also use it on your friends as a gag and it shouldn't kill anyone. Yet it seems to do the trick if you are quick enough to respond to the danger of someone pointing a gun at you first. Then it's a matter of who is faster.

I also like the stun gun because it doesn't kill the criminal. It makes them drop to the ground in pain so you can continue to beat the crap out of them until the cops show up! Now that's they way to deal with a criminal!

By the way, Locked Up is a must see on MSNBC.
